Opentrons pipette thermal cycling module GEN2

The thermal cycler module GEN2 can perform PCR procedures on Opentrons OT series workstations. It works with all current Opentrons hardware and software and is compatible with the Flex Gripper.

Product Description The Opentrons thermal cycler module is a PCR instrument that can be adapted to the OT series workstation and suitable for 0.2 mL 96-well PCR plates to perform PCR programs. It is compatible with all Opentrons hardware and software. The heated upper lid and disposable seal press tightly against the plate during PCR procedures, ensuring efficient sample heating while significantly reducing evaporation rates.

Components The upper cover heating and sealing system ensures a tight fit between the top of the plate holes and the seal, and maintains the temperature balance of each hole in the plate

The cover can be opened/closed automatically and can be programmed through Protocol Designer or Python API, or can be independently controlled through Opentrons APP.

Base 96-well sample base enables precise temperature control during PCR

The PCR plate lifter lifts the full-skirted rigid PCR plate after PCR, making it easier for the plate transfer gripper to transfer the PCR plate.

The sealing compressor presses the lid and disposable seal tightly over the microplate to prevent evaporation and contamination during the reaction

The exhaust port leads out the high-temperature airflow in the instrument from the thermal cycler.

The air inlet draws air from the outside for rapid heating and cooling of the thermal cycler.

LED light strips can emit red, blue or white light to indicate temperature changes

Lid/plate lift button is used to open and close the instrument lid, or to lift the well plate
